Who's behind ALMI?
Hi, I’m Lýdia Hric Machová, but everyone calls me Lydka. I’m a polyglot, a language mentor and a TED speaker. I learned 9 languages mostly on my own, without living abroad.
With my team at Language Mentoring, I help people learn languages in a way that’s completely different from school or a language course. I’ve spoken at dozens of events around the world, and I’m the only Slovak who has spoken on the official TED stage in New York. My talk has more than 20 million views.
I’m a huge fan of artificial intelligence, and I use it every day, in my life and at work. Since 2023, we’ve been bringing AI into language learning, and thousands of people have learned with our guides and challenges that combine my know-how with ChatGPT.
